CORONADO FOR THANKSGIVING + A GORGEOUS BEACH HOUSE

I am currently experiencing vacation hang-over from a full week away in sunny Coronado, California (the island off of San Diego) with my family. It's so hard to come back from vacation, right?! My brother's family and my family shared this beautiful beach house.

Isn't this home just idyllic? And we couldn't have had a better time. My sister and her family and my dad and step-mom came as well. The weather was beautiful and my kids loved playing with their cousins.

If you have never been to Coronado you must go! It really is heaven-on-earth. It is the best of all worlds. A gorgeous beach, a cute town with good restaurants and independently owned boutiques, a downtown 15 minutes away, and lots of attractions like Sea World, The San Diego Zoo, and LegoLand all within 30 min!

My girls LOVED the beach and never wanted to leave. It's amazing how entertaining some waves and sand can be for hours.

How cute is this picture of Caroline and her cousin Annika on the beach?! They were so cute playing together and holding hands as they jumped the waves...

We are really lucky to have 2 girl cousins Caroline's age. They all play so well together.

Chasing after Eva sure made for a tiring trip...she couldn't even sit still for a picture on Santa's sleigh at Sea World.
Our Thanksgiving dinner was great! It consisted of an iPad to keep the kids entertained and a buffet at the Marriott hotel on the island. (Yes, I know, Mom-of-the-year). I will do ANYTHING for 5 minutes of silence :) The best part was no cooking and no dishes!

It was just nice to have a break from work (as much as I love it) and spend some time as a family uninterrupted. I don't think I got ready once and look at my kids - I didn't get them ready either. We were there to simply enjoy ourselves. It was fantastic.

I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving as well. And enough of my amateur family pictures. Let's talk about this amazing beach house for sale on Coronado! It is literally across the street from the beach and it is just beautiful. I need to make $$$$$ so I can have something like this one day...if you happen to have $9.8 million check it out here to buy.

My favorite front-door, a dutch door!
Look at that view! I guess that view is literally worth about $8 Million :) To me it would be priceless!

I love the rooftop barbeque. I can definitely see myself having the BEST 4th of July barbeque there!
Here's to dreaming...maybe one day.

  1. Wow! What an amazing home!

Can you please email me the contact info for it? We're trying to plan a beach vacation next year.

    Thank you,

  2. I would also love the contact info. We stay in Coronado all the time at the Del but would love a beach house for the whole family. One realtor told me that the codes in Coronado don't allow a stay of shorter than one month so there were never any houses on a weekly basis -- trying to get me to buy, I guess.
I love your blog! My daughter-in-law Chelsea Horsley says she communicates with you all the time about design things.
Anyway, great pictures of Coronado -- I love that place!
