ALL THAT GLITTERS - SPARKLE VILLAGE DIY

Hi everyone! This is Jamie letting you in on a little secret. I am a craft-a-phobe. Translation - FEAR OF CRAFTING. Unless a DIY project is absolutely and completely fool-proof, it's a total flop. Bows for my daughter's hair, no way, front door wreath - forget about it. I have such big ideas but they usually translate into massive failure. Moral of this story is, if I can do it. You can do it.

My mom had her annual Girl's Christmas Tea Party at her house over the weekend and arranged for us to make these glitter village houses. They turned out so adorable! I love how they look sitting on my shelf.

Using this Martha Stewart Tutorial, its really simple!

My mom found the cardboard houses at Hobby Lobby. All you do is.. Paint with acrylic paint. Wait for it to dry (very important!). Modge podge a thin layer and literally THROW on glitter. We also added some finishing touches, sparkle paper for the windows and doors, wreaths, modge podged some snow and a bead doorknob.

I love that my mom put this fun tradition together for us. And now all I want to do is make more houses! How fun would a stripe or polka dot version be? The possibilities are endless even with my limited skills. Here are a few more pics of our craft-a-thon.

Another fun weekend project to share! Marianne's sister-in-law is a talented photographer. She did a fashion editorial shoot at her house this weekend and check out the results. Amazing! Making my iPhone photography look really really sad.  You can check out more of her incredible work on her website Emily Brown Photography.

Hope you are all having a fabulous holiday season. Thanks for reading!
