MY NEW ANTIQUE RUG

I have always loved antique rugs in the kitchen. This is one of my all-time favorite photos from Lonny Mag that has made the rounds...

After reading Nate Berkus's book (who said put the things you LOVE in your home), I decided it was time to put my love of antique rugs in the kitchen to use and buy one.

Then I saw this post on Little Green Notebook and I knew I had found the place to finally buy an inexpensive antique rug for my kitchen...ESALERUGS.

I found one I loved for only $150 + the rug pad + free shipping! That's a steal of a deal in my mind. It's from the '40's and it had the deep navy and pinkish red tones I wanted. And here it is in all it's glory. (The best part is that my husband actually liked it as much as I did and wasn't mad at my unnecessary purchase!)

Please excuse the less-than-amazing photography. Learning how to take better pictures is on my New Year's Resolution list.

  1. It's gorgeous! Do you know what kind it is? I always have a hard time searching on esale rugs because there are so many, but yours is exactly what I'm looking for!

    1. I know - the site is overwhelming! I go to the "Handmade tab" and then pick the size I was looking for on the left sidebar and then click on "Antiques" also on the left sidebar. Here is the link to where I was looking: http://esalerugs.com/antiques-3x5-hand-knotted-rugs-rugs.html

I'm glad you like it because you have great taste!

  2. I absolutely love it! I browse esalerugs all the time but haven't made a purchase yet. I have a vintage rug in my kitchen which I love but I need to move it in our hall bath soon so I'm shopping for another one. Glad the husband liked it too!

  8. I love it! I just found you through Design Manifest, and I have to say that you're INCREDIBLY talented at design!! You have the knack of combining without overwhelming. I was just thinning this morning how I need to get rid of my boring black mat int he kitchen. It's comfortable, but not so pretty. So glad to have found you!

    1. I had my round island custom made by the same people who did my cabinets - Legacy Mill in SLC. I think that would be the best way to go if you wanted a round island in your own home.
