phew! that was a lot of work...thanks for stopping by!
Such a beautiful home!
ReplyDeleteIt's just amazing what a lot of money can buy...so daring to rip everything out and buy new. Very green of you. Anyone can have this look for about $2 mil.
DeleteAnonymous! I am so glad you could stop by! I've been waiting for a comment like this to pop up on my website. Everyone with a blog/website has one of you blast them from behind the curtain of anonymity and I consider it an honor.
DeleteBut seriously, I would like to address the "green" comment that you are somewhat correct on. When you update a home built in the 1950's, guess what?! You put in water-efficient plumbing, new insulation to keep the home heated, new energy-efficient appliances and electrical, all while reusing the original parts of the home, which in essence is kind of recycling.
And nowhere near $2mil was used, so I will take that as a compliment. I'm glad you like my home ;)
Sincerely best wishes to you.
Jealous people are hideous people.. Such a classy remark, Marianne.
DeleteWow. I just popped on this blog as the pics and your taste are stunning and super helpful, Marianne. And I must say, this is the first ever anything I've typed onto someone's blog. But your cyber bully is way out of line.
DeleteDear "hideous" Anonymous above: no one likes you. Time for you to leave the party. Where's your brilliant blog, jackass? Stop harrassing people and go be miserable alone.
Oh, and bravo Marianne for handling that with grace and dignity ;)
DeleteWow! How many times can I say "Beautiful!" while scrolling through a post? In this case...about 10 times! Beautiful home, beautiful photos, beautiful new button on your blog!

ReplyDeleteWhere is the art from that is in yoru dining room? It is a truly gorgeous piece.
ReplyDeleteA friend of mine painted the picture. She isn't formally trained but she is naturally talented and very afforodable. She doesn't have a website or anything to showcase her work yet, but if you are interested I can send you her email address.
DeleteI'm glad you like it! Thank you for your question and for stopping by!
Love the paint color in the nursery!! Would you mind sharing?
ReplyDeleteI think it is Sherwin Williams Possibly Pink. The paint color got lost in the remodel but I think that is the color. I am glad you like it! I hesitated to paint my girls room pink since it is really cliche but I really like that it is a barely pink, or rather a pale pink. I would love to paint the wainscot a gray with that pink one day.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your question and nice comment!
Beautiful home! What is the paint color in the master bath? I love it!
ReplyDeleteMarianne ~ You did an amazing job on your home reno!! I've been poking through your blog and your work is wonderful. Great style, fantastic taste. Your Master Bedroom is drop dead gorgeous! I'm in love with your rug:) Well done!
ReplyDeletelove your house!really well done and so classy!
ReplyDeleteWould mind sharing where the coktail ottoamn in your living room come from?!
The ottoman in my living room is custom made by a local upholsterer - Rocky Mountain Upholstery. If you have an upholsterer nearby it's totally worth getting a bid for an ottoman - they are usually pretty reasonable to make custom.
DeleteYour house is ah. mazing! I am love with it all. Great site! I'm your newest follower!
ReplyDeleteI totally just got the warm fuzzies from looking at these gorgeous pics! I'm amazed by what you've done here and by all the details of your home (trim, ceilings, colors...perfect!)

ReplyDeleteMarianne, I had no idea! Your home is gorgeous. When Eric is done with dental school and we have a home, YOU are designing it for me--no matter where we are in the country I am flying you there! Hope you are doing well,

ReplyDeleteThat bathroom is beyond. Would you mind sharing the paint color? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful home! What color are your kitchen cabinets? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThis is one of the most amazing before and afters ever! I love it!!!
ReplyDeleteWow! Looks amazing! Love it all.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous. You have beautiful taste. The carpentry/trim work really makes your home lovely. I hope you have many beautiful moments there.
ReplyDeleteMarianne your home is my all time favorite!! I love the crisp white and have used white dove in many areas of my home as well... But it is a little yellow for me so I am going to try the mix you used. My question is .. Is that 50/50 mix what is used thought your home and what finish do you prefer? Thanks for sharing tour beautiful home with us!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the very nice compliment! Yes, the 50/50 mix is used throughout my home on all the trim and walls that have wainscot on them. The finish we used on the wainscot walls and trim is a semi-gloss. Usually I use a semi-gloss on the moldings and eggshell on the walls, but I always use semi-gloss on any paneling, wainscot, or moldings so that is why my walls are semi-gloss. Hope the helps you!
DeleteHouse love it! How much light and beauty! Bravo!
ReplyDeleteYour house is amazing! I love the mix of old and new, modern and vintage. Regarding your dining room table, where did you get it? I think you said the kitchen table was from Restoration but the dining room table is a different one right? Thank you!
ReplyDeleteStunning. Good work.
ReplyDeleteHi Marianne,
ReplyDeleteI love the hardware in the kitchen. Where did you get it? And what style is it?
Thanks.
Hello, Love Love Love your skills!! Would you mind letting me know where the fabric in "Caroline's" Room is from. It is just lovely. And would look so cute in the room I am now doing in my home for my new grand-daughter.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
Donna
Thank you Donna! The fabric in Caroline's room is from a discount fabric store so I'm not sure what the pattern is, but I do know the brand is Kravet. Sorry I can't be of more help! Thank you for stopping by and for your nice comment!

ReplyDeleteHi there - you have done a really lovely job. I would also love to know the particular IKEA model for the bedside chests if you'd be so kind as to share! All the best, Jess
ReplyDeleteThank you! It's actually the RAST and it was pre-stained although Ikea no longer offers this stained version anymore. You can always stain it yourself ;) And then I of course added different knobs (which cost as much as the chests!)
DeleteAwesome blog... great content and photos.. You are quite an inspiration...
